Big Win for Women's Volleyball

Windsor, ON)- The St. Clair women's volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule on Saturday afternoon at the Sportsplex and came away with a convincing 3-0 win over the Mohawk College Mountaineers (Hamilton).

Set scores for St. Clair 25-17, 25-14, and 25-17. The Saints had lost to Mohawk 3-1 in Hamilton on November 12.

Third year outside hitter Chantal DeVlugt (Wyoming; LCCVI) led the way offensively for the Saints with 10 kills, 1 stuff block, and 4 digs. Rookie middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Marantha Christian) had a big game as well with 8 kills, 2 service aces, 1 stuff block and 4 digs. Second year Libero Mikayla Stocks had a great match as well with 1 assist and 14 digs.

With the win St. Clair improved to 9-2 on the season while Mohawk dropped to 5-6. The Saints are currently ranked 4^th in Ontario while the Mountaineers are 9^th.

The Saints are back in action on Wednesday, January 18^th when they travel to Kitchener to take on the 9-2 Conestoga Condors in a battle for second place in the OCAA West.
