Men's Volleyball Drop Two on the Road

The St. Clair men's volleyball team was on the road this weekend to take on Mohawk College and Niagara College.

On Friday night, St. Clair fell to the Mohawk Mountaineers by a score of 3-0. Set scores for Mohawk were 25-12, 25-16, and 25-23. Michael Knight (LaSalle; Sandwich Secondary) had a solid match with 11 kills, 1 service aces and 4 digs. With the win Mohawk improved to 8-8 on the season. The Mountaineers are ranked 8th in Ontario.

On Saturday, the Saints were in Welland to take on the Niagara Knights. St. Clair struggled once again losing the match 3-0. Set scores for the Knights were 25-9, 25-12, and 25-17. Frankie Friesen (Staples; Tilbury District) led the way offensively for St. Clair with 6 kills. The win moved Niagara's record to 11-5 on the year. The Knights are currently ranked 5th in Ontario.

With the two losses the Saints record is now 3-13 on the season.

The Saints are next in action at home this coming weekend when they wrap up their regular season schedule at the Sportsplex. They host College Boreal at 2 pm on Saturday and Cambrian College on Sunday at 2 pm. Sunday will be Senior Day with the graduating seniors recognized before the match. St. Clair can still clinch the final playoff spot in the OCAA West Division with 2 wins on the weekend.
