Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball fell behind two sets early to the Humber Hawks and could not come away with the comeback win, losing 3-1 (19-25, 22-25, 25-15, 21-25).

With 15 digs in the match, Mountaineers libero Turner Neame (Hamilton, ON) surpassed Ryan Dela Rosa for the Mohawk men's volleyball record for most digs in a single season. Dela Rosa set the record of 142 digs in the 2011-12 season, beating his own record from a year prior.

Neame, a second-year athlete for the Mountaineers, now has 149 digs this season with four matches remaining.

With the loss the Mountaineers now host a 7-7 record.

"I think our offensive choices were solid in concept and we're becoming more comfortable taking risks," said head coach Brad McClure. "Overall I think that serving toughness was a big differentiator in tonight's outcome, which we'll need to improve as we head into our final games."

Peter Pilling (St. Catharines, ON) had 22 assists in the match and 10 digs. Andrew Hutcins (Courtice, ON) led the team with nine digs.

Mohawk returns to the DBARC on Jan. 28 to host the Sheridan Bruins at 3 p.m.
