Ancaster, ON- The St. Clair college women's volleyball team opened their OCAA regular season on a positive note on Saturday afternoon in Ancaster.
The Saints defeated the Redeemer Royals by a score of 3-0. Set scores were 27-25, 25-23 and 25-21.
Te-Anna Stephenson (Whitby; Sinclair Seconday) led the way for St. Clair offensively with 15 kills on 30 attempts, 3 service aces and 1 stuff block. Rookie Ally Kozak (Belle River; Belle River District) also had a solid game with 7 kills, 5 service aces and 7 digs.
The Saints have 6 new players on their roster of 13 this season so there will be some early growing pains for head coach Jimmy El-Turk and his staff.
The Saints are next in action on Friday, October 26th when they host the Mohawk Mountaineers in their home opener at the Sportsplex at 6 pm
