Basketball Back Home Against Lambton Wednesday

Windsor, ON – After a nine-day layoff the St. Clair College Women's and Men's Basketball teams get back to action Wednesday night at the SportsPlex when they host Lambton College (Sarnia) in an OCAA West Division doubleheader.  The Women's game tips at 6:00pm followed by the Men's game at 8:00pm.  Both the St. Clair Men's (11-3) and Women's (10-2) team are ranked 3rd in the Ontario with the Lady Saints moving up to #13 nationally this week.

The St. Clair Women continue to be led by 3rd year 5'6 twin sisters Logan and Jana Kucera (Chatham, ON).  Logan is 10th in provincial scoring at 17.7 points per game adding 7.0 rebounds per contest.  Jana is 4th in provincial assists dishing out 4.3 per game and sits 14th in OCAA scoring at 15.5 per game.  5'9" swing player Noor Bazzi (Windsor, ON/Vincent Massey) also averages double figures at 12.5 points per game for the Saints.  Mid-season addition 6'0" forward Nicole Tamm (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) is scoring 11.0 points while adding 7.3 rebounds per game.  5'5" guard Keirsten Tomkins (Sarnia, ON) is 3rd in provincial rebounding at 10.7 per game for St. Clair.

The Lambton Women are ranked 7th in the OCAA with a 9-5 record which stands tied for 4th in the West Division and are led by rookie 5'8" guard Breanna Pretty (Sarnia, ON) who averages 14.8 points per game to go with 8.4 rebounds and 4.3 steals (3rd OCAA).  2nd year 5'9" guard Cassidy Crowe (Sarnia, ON) is close behind at 14.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for Lambton.  In their other meeting this season the St. Clair Women won 63-60 on Lambton's home court in early November.

The St. Clair Men are tied for 2nd Place in the West Division with eventual OCAA Championship host Lambton (7-8) sitting in 7th Place.  4th year 6'2" transfer guard David Gomez Jr. (Pontiac, MI) continues to lead the Saints and ranks 4th in provincial scoring at 22.2 points per game and adds 3.5 assists.  6'3" guard Jesiah Deerr (Whitby, ON) hits double figures at 12.5 per game with 6'5" swing player Jalen Harmon (Ypsilanti, MI) chipping in with 10.1 points per game and 3.4 assists for St. Clair.  

The Lambton Men get lots of production from 5th year 6'7 forward Jason Watts (Detroit, MI) who averages 16.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.  1st year 5'11" guard Kam David (Brampton, ON) will certainly factor in with 14.0 points and 5.2 assists (2nd OCAA) per game for Lambton.  The Saints defeated Lambton 91-85 in Sarnia back in early November but lost 96-90 at the George Brown tournament in Toronto in early January.
