Women's Soccer Lose Heartbreaker in Overtime in Quarterfinals

Kingston, ON (Oct 23, 2021) The St. Clair women's soccer team travelled to Kingston on Saturday to take on the St. Lawrence Surge in OCAA Quarter final playoff action. The Saints played hard on the road but ended up losing the match by a score of 1-0 in overtime. St. Lawrence advances to the OCAA Final Four Championship with the win.

The Saints got off to a slow start in the match as the Surge had 8 shot attempts in the first half compared to only 2 for St. Clair. However, the score remained 0-0 thanks to a couple of nice saves by keeper Athena Dimario Done (Windsor; St. Joseph's).

St. Clair picked their game up in the second half with a few more shot attempts but neither team could find the back of the goal sending the game into 30 minutes of overtime.

Unfortunately for the Saints the Surge snuck one past Dimario Done in the 96th minute to take the lead. St. Clair pushed hard to get the equalizer but the St. Lawrence defence held strong.
