The Mohawk Mountaineers picked up their second win of the season and remained undefeated with a 2-0-3 record following a 1-0 win over the Niagara Knights.

The lone goal came in the 89th minute when Ryenn Jans (Millgrove, ON) scored after receiving a great pass from Alyssa Glasbergen (Burlington, ON).

"It feels really good," Jans said following the win. "I also got a good pass from Alyssa, so I just had to finish the play."

The Mountaineers controlled most of the game, specifically in the first half.

Mohawk goalkeeper Samantha DeHaan (Smithville, ON) had a superb performance with seven saves.

Mohawk head coach Paul Giannini said the win was very important as the team heads into the next match.

"This game is huge for us because the confidence will go up," Giannini said. "Two games in a row with late goals to get the results we want is going to give confidence to the kids."

The Mountaineers will next host the Conestoga Condors at Tim Hortons Field at 6 p.m. on Sept. 28.
