Men's Soccer Taking on Seneca at OCAA Championship

(Oct 25) Windsor, ON- The St. Clair College men's soccer team will be taking on the Seneca Sting on Wednesday night in OCAA Quarterfinal action at the OCAA Championship. The Championship is being hosted by Humber College at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan from Wednesday to Saturday. The OCAA Championship Awards banquet will take place on Thursday at the host hotel.

St. Clair will be taking to the pitch Wednesday at 5:30 pm. The winner will advance to the OCAA semi-final on Friday at 3 pm to play the winner of Conestoga and George Brown. The Saints will have their work cut out against the Sting. Seneca finished the season in first place in the East Division with a record of 10-0 and are ranked in 2nd Ontario and 4th in Canada. The Sting scored 50 goals and only allowed 5. Seneca advanced to the quarterfinal by defeating Sheridan 2-1 in Penalty Kicks.

The Saints ended the regular season with a record of 5-4-1 in 4th place in the West Division and are ranked 9th in Ontario. St. Clair scored 28 goals and gave up 17. The Saints advanced by defeating Algonquin College at home on Sunday 2-1.

The top two teams from the Championship will advance to the CCAA Nationals being hosted by Langara College in Langley, BC from November 9-12.
