Knights Women Blanked by Durham in OCAA Quarterfinal

March 14, 2022 - The Niagara Knights women's volleyball team were bounced from the OCAA playoff picture on Saturday afternoon when they traveled to Oshawa to take on the East Division first place team, the Durham Lords (8-0).

The Knights were defeated 0-3 (12-25,13-25,18-25) by the host team, who will now move on to the OCAA final four hosted by Humber College on March 16-17th.

Natasha Desjardins led the Knights with 8 points (6 kills, 7 digs) while Durham's Mia Hildebrandt finished the match with 20 points ( 8 kills, 9 blocks).

The scene was all too familiar for Niagara. In 2019-2020, the Knights were eliminated from the post-season by the Lords at the 2020 OCAA Women's Volleyball championships by a score of 0-3.

The women's volleyball program has now gone two seasons without medaling, after earning five medals in their previous six OCAA Championships.
