Saints Baseball Set To Begin Title Defense

Windsor, ON – The defending OCAA Champion St. Clair College Men's Baseball team open their season this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh against George Brown College (Toronto) on Saturday and Humber College (Etobicoke) on Sunday.  Saturday's doubleheader with George Brown begins at 4:00pm and Sunday's twin bill against Humber begins at 1:00pm.

The Saints return all four of their league all-stars from the 2021 squad including left-handed hurler Cameron O'Reilly (Moose Jaw, SK) who was also the OCAA Pitcher of the Year last season along with catcher Henry Real (Panama City, Panama) who was named the Championship MVP.  Shortstop Josh Anderson (Ajax, ON) and first baseman Colin Robinson (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) were the Saints other all-stars a year ago but will feature a strong incoming class starting with a pair of transfers in catcher/third baseman Garret Kratz (Ajax, ON) and centerfielder Ethan Paulos (Ancaster, ON).

Locally the Saints welcome a pair of Tecumseh Thunder players from LaSalle in third baseman/pitcher Owen Findlay (St. Thomas of Villanova) and pitcher Cody Moore (Sandwich SS).  Also joining the Saints pitching roster this fall from out of town are Miles Lagoutte (Sylvan Lake, Alberta/École H. J. Cody High School) and Andrew Cooper (Brampton, ON/Brampton Centennial SS).

Sunday's double dip with Humber will be a rematch of last year's OCAA Championship game and the visitors return a pair of league all-stars in pitcher Dalton Brownlee (Innisfil, ON) and infielder Aidan Murphy, (Brampton, ON).  The Saints have won six of the eight OCAA Championships with Humber winning the other two.
