LANCERS BATTLE HARD BUT FALL SHORT

Loyalist dropped their second consecutive game on Friday night with an 81-71 loss against the University of Toronto – Mississauga Eagles.

The Lancers' offense was thrown off track with some great interior defense by the Eagles, who held the Lancers to just 22.7 per cent shooting from the 3 point line. The Eagles defense caused havoc for the Lancers by forcing 26 turnovers in which created for 27 points off of turnovers.

The Eagles opened the scoring with back to back buckets, and never trailed after that. The Lancers finally got themselves going and pulled out 7 point streak to end of the quarter down 20-16.

The second quarter saw the Lancers outscore the Eagles 21-20 but still trail 40-37 at the half.

Despite bringing the game within 1 point in the third and keeping the score close for the entire quarter, the Lancers weren't able to hold on and the Eagles widened the gap in the fourth quarter and ended up with an 81-71 victory.
