A daunting six-game losing streak came to an end for Mohawk Mountaineers women's volleyball following a 3-0 (25-23, 25-9, 25-10) victory over the Borèal Vipères.

The clean sweep moved the Mountaineers record to an even 6-6.

Although the first set was even and the Vipères put the Mountaineers in some trouble, Mohawk was able to find its true level of play to come out with the win. The Mountaineers would only improve from there in the second and third sets.

Head coach Kelsey Kovar explained how Mohawk improved their game after the first set.

"The first set was tight, but that is volleyball sometimes," Kovar said. "We just had to find a way to work out some things and work on that confidence, so I'm proud of my players for being able to turn it around."

"This was an opportunity for us to flip the script in our season," Kovar added.

The season will continue to move along for the Mountaineers as they now host the Cambrian Golden Shield on Jan. 21 at 1 p.m.
