Women's Volleyball Improve to 2-0

Windsor, ON- The St. Clair college women's volleyball team opened their OCAA home schedule with a solid 3-1 win over the Mohawk Mountaineers on Friday night at the Sportsplex in front a great crowd on Saints Fight Cancer Night.

Set scores for the Saints were 25-21, 26-24, 22-25 and 25-21.

It was all around team effort offensively for St. Clair with 5 players contributing 9 or more points. Setter Kim Quintanilla (Windsor; St. Josephs) moved the ball around well throughout the match picking up 32 assists. Jessica Masse (Cottam; Essex District) led the way for St. Clair with 12 kills on 25 attempts, 2 service aces and 2 stuff blocks. Te-Anna Stephenson (Whitby; Sinclair Secondary) chipped in with 11 kills, 2 stuff blocks and 7 digs. Jordyn Pranger (London; Medway) had a solid game as well with 10 kills, 1 service ace and 13 digs. Rookie Amelia Oliverio (Windsor; St. Josephs) also had a great match with 7 kills, 4 service aces and 13 digs.

With the win the Saints improved to 2-0 on the season while Mohawk fell to 1-1.

The Saints are next in action on Wednesday, October 31st when they host the Fanshawe Falcons at the Sportsplex at 6 pm.
