No. 1 Men’s Soccer Earns OCAA Title Berth

ETOBICOKE – For the fifth time over the last six seasons, top-ranked Humber men's soccer is heading back to the OCAA title game after a semifinal victory over St. Clair, 5-1. Marcos Nunes and Leaford Allen paced the way for the Hawks, finishing the match with two tallies, each.

Two-time all-star Marcos Nunes opened the scoring in the fifth minute for Humber, blasting a shot from outside the box that slipped through the hands of the rain-soaked Saints keeper. Less than five minutes later, Exosse Kadiebue recorded his first tally of the postseason, silencing the home crowd with a strike to the top left corner of the net.

In the 34th minute, senior Uday Arora beat two defenders and found Leaford Allen in the box. A brilliant move from Allen crossed up his defender, and the All-Canadian buried his first goal of the match.

As was the case for most of the season, Humber let St. Clair back into the match right before the break. A defensive miscommunication led to an easy goal for St. Clair's Dagloria trimmed Humber's lead to two.

A rejuvenated Hawks came out of the break looking to end any hopes of a St. Clair comeback. In the 48th minute, a perfect through ball from Arora found Nunes as he got behind the defence and unloaded an absolute laser to the top right corner.

Less than a minute later Kadiebue brought the ball into the box, passing to Nunes, who made a cheeky backheel pass to Allen for his second tally of the match.
