Men's Basketball Drops Third Straight Road Game to Begin the Season
HAMILTON – Humber men's basketball dropped another close game, falling to Mohawk (2-2, 5th West) Saturday afternoon, 82-80.
Freshman Trey Wilson made his season debut for Humber, dropping a team-high 20 points and finished 6-for-8 from three-point range. Fowzi Mohamoud added 12 points, while Kevin Otoo narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 11 points and nine boards. Jimmy Rich and Jaylan Morgan rounded out Humber's double-digit scorers with 10 points, each.
After a slow start to begin the game, the Hawks rallied from an early deficit to take a two-point lead into halftime.
Mohawk responded in the third quarter, retaking the lead for good. Humber struggled from the floor in the second half, shooting 31.0 percent (13-for-42) and was only able to get to the free-throw line five times.
Trailing by two with seven seconds left, Humber had a good look for the win but the three-point attempt bounced out and Mohawk handed the Hawks their third straight loss to begin the season.
