The Seneca Sting improved to 3-0 on the season with a 66-41 win over the Algonquin Thunder (1-3).
The Sting opened the scoring on a three-point shot by Alcian Satchel and never looked back, leading wire-to-wire.
Following a 12-7 advantage in the first quarter, the Sting blew the game open in the second quarter, taking a 31-15 lead into halftime. Taylor Allicock and Satchel combined to match the Thunder's 15 first half points while eight Sting scored in the first half.
A high-scoring third quarter saw the Sting hold a slim 20-16 advantage to expland their lead to twenty. Allicock connected on four field goals to pace the Sting.
With the game out of reach, the Sting focused on defense, holding the Thunder to just five baskets in the quarter.
Allicock led the Sting with 16 points and 7 steals. Satchel finished with 13 points and 6 assists. Brianna-mae Clough and Nicky Elliott-Gill each added 8 points.
Katie Flansbury topped the Thunder with 15 points. Ashley Proulx contributed 9 points and Paula Meek added 7 points.
