Men's Volleyball continues hot start to second half of the season

ETOBICOKE — The second half of the has been good to the Humber men's volleyball team, extending its win streak to five straight with a victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers Thursday evening, 3-1. The final set scores were 25-19, 25-22, 15-25, and 25-21.

Transfer Teyven Blackmore led the squad in scoring once again, finishing with 11 points. Senior Jaydon Milne led the Hawks on the defensive end, recording a career-high ten digs, while Kyle Gray-Phillips tied his career-high with nine points. In the opening set, serve God Jake Gomes recorded his 148th service ace, moving into third all-time in OCAA history.

Looking to redeem themselves from a straight-set sweep during the first semester, the Hawks jumped out to a quick two-set lead before a lacklustre effort saw the Mountaineers win the third set.

Marcus Morgan showed off his athleticism in the fourth set, firing up the home crowd with two massive swings. The close final set ended with two straight aces from Teyven Blackmore, securing Humber's fifth straight win and moving the Hawks into third place in the OCAA West Division.
