Road warriors continue to stumble at home

It was another tough loss at home for the Centennial men's basketball team, as the Colts dropped their second game this week to the St. Lawrence Surge, by a score of 80-54.

The Colts have been unable to protect home court this season, as they've lost three of four games played at the Athletics and Wellness Centre, with Durham being the only team to fall to the Colts.

Once again, the lack of depth in the squad played a decisive role in the team's performance.

"It's a tough situation for us cause the majority of our rotation players are playing 35 or more minutes," said Challenger at the end of the game. "It is going to be the same trend until we can regroup next year, but for now, it is hard to keep our guys in shape with such a short season, although this is not an excuse."

So far this season, most of the Colts' matchups have fared similarly, with initial parity between teams that wanes later on in the game due to fatigue.

Yesterday's game against Surge was no exception, as the visiting team only managed to get a comfortable lead come the third quarter. By the end of the first half, the score was within three, but after the break, Centennial was only able to score 23 points in comparison to the 48 obtained by Surge.

Centennial's next game will be on Saturday, March 5, when they go on the road to visit the Algonquin Wolves at the Jack Doyle Athletics and Recreation Centre. This will be the Colts' final game of the regular season.
