Colts Win Duel Against The Knights

SCARBOROUGH - The Centennial Lady Colts ended their three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Fleming College Knights last Friday.

The Colts improved their record to 4-10 on the year off the back of a solid performance by Ferana Rouhi Maleki who tallied 13 kills and seven service aces.

Head coach Andrew Mallory's squad managed the win despite suffering key injuries to the likes of Arianna Supersad and Frances Joy.

"We put a lot of pressure offensively on a couple of players today with our lineup," said Mallory. "Ferana Rouhi Maleki specifically did a good job of understanding and thriving in that role offensively."

Mallory also gave Isabella Heath her flowers post-game, commending her for her ability to "quarterback" the Colts' defense which in turn gave Centennial the victory over Fleming who fell to an 0-14 record with the loss.

The Colts needed four sets to seal the deal on Friday, winning the first set (25-27), the third set (25-21), and the fourth (25-12).

The Knights managed to squeak by winning the second set in extra points, 27-25, but could not replicate their success afterward.
