Colts Look for Season Sweep of Phoenix

After a consistent performance and another win added to the streak, the Centennial Men's Volleyball team is back in action for another home game, the last of 2023. The second-placed Colts will be hosting the currently placed eighth, Fleming Phoenix, this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. This will be the second matchup between the two teams, the first one taken by the Colts in three sets.

The Colts have been performing well, and with important wins, they are now occupying second place in the standings. Their main goal now is to get the first position, and to do that, they must have a flawless second semester with no losses. The Colts' outside hitter, Lio Salazar, is excited about the challenge. He mentioned that the team has been responding well to the challenges they are incorporating into practice, aiming to build up positive energy for the next semester.

"We have to be ready; this league is strong, and we have to bring our best selves to practice every day," completed Salazar.

Last year, the Colts and the Phoenix went 1-1, with both teams winning as hosts. This year, the Colts got their first win in Peterborough and will be fighting to get another win and not let history repeat. The Phoenix are looking for momentum and to secure a spot in the playoffs, and they will bring everything they have to be the second team to defeat the Colts this season.

We hope the Colts can close 2023 with the same intensity and high level they have been showing to the fans and bring more momentum for the next semester. They have clear goals and will be playing to host another playoff game.

Game time from the Athletic and Wellness Center follows the Women's game at approximately 3PM.
