On a cold, snowy Friday night, the George Brown Huskies came away with a comfortable win against the Centennial Colts at the AWC.

Despite showing a lot of improvements in their last games against Seneca and Durham, the team coached by Trevor Challenger was unable to compete against the visiting Huskies, who dominated three out of the four quarters, securing the 88 to 57 victory.

By the end of the game, there was visible frustration from a young Colts team, who left the court almost immediately after the final buzzer sounded. "It's a young group, so it's difficult to keep composure at times," said Challenger during a post-game interview. "I think our guys were rushing on offence... with a little bit more patience, we could have better results."

Centennial has already faced a lot of adversity in this shortened season and matters became even worst before the game, as the team received confirmation from trainers that Emmanuel Osaruyi would not be able to play due to a knee injury.

With an already short bench, the coaching staff were forced to play starters more minutes, resulting in sloppy play on offence and defence. George Brown came with a full bench, allowing them to effectively manage the game's pace. With a rested bench and hot shooting from outside, the Huskies comfortably pulled away in the second half.

Despite the final result, coach Challenger, believes there are some positives he can take looking forward to the upcoming fixture.

"With the pandemic, a lot of teams are low in numbers, so it is difficult to get some sort of continuity," added the veteran head coach. "These next four games that we have will be useful to work on our patience and how to manage this type of encounter."

The men's basketball team will now go on the road, playing against Fleming next Wednesday at 7 p.m. EST.
