Bill Crowdis enjoyed a four-year collegiate career at Durham College which included a CCAA national championship in men's basketball.

In his first year of OCAA play, Crowdis helped the Lords win the OCAA championship (1996-97) as they went on to win the CCAA national championship in Vancouver.

Crowdis continued to excel in the OCAA in his next two years, being named an OCAA league all-star twice (1997-98, 1998-99), an OCAA all-star game most valuable player (1998-99), and a CCAA all-Canadian in 1998-99. The 6-foot-7 power forward was the OCAA overall league scoring champion in 1998-99.

Crowdis' academic career was always at the forefront, evident by his CCAA Academic All-Canadian award in 1997-98. He completed his academic-athletic career at Durham by being named the OCAA Male Athlete of the Year in 1998-99.

In 2000, Bill Crowdis was named to the OCAA All-Millennium team.
