Over three years with the Georgian Grizzles, Katie Ferguson played three sports - women's basketball, curling and golf. She enjoyed most of her success during her collegiate golf career, winning 12 provincial and national medals. In her rookie campaign, Ferguson walked away with a CCAA individual gold medal, after taking the silver at the provincial championship. She earned a CCAA all-academic award and went on to win Georgian College's female rookie of the year, as well as the Georgian golf MVP award.

In her sophomore year, Ferguson continued her strong play by winning the OCAA individual gold and CCAA individual silver medals, as well as OCAA team gold and CCAA team bronze medals. For her efforts she was awarded the Georgian College female athlete of the year award, as well as the golf MVP award for the second year in a row. Ferguson finished her off her career in style; going undefeated throughout the invitational season and capturing an individual gold medal at both the provincial and national championships. Her performances at both nationals and provincials was simply outstanding, winning both events by a combined 24 strokes and for the third consecutive year was named team MVP.

Ferguson was also a member of the Georgian College curling team for two years and women's basketball team for a single season. In her first year on the curling team, Ferguson helped to guide the Grizzles to a provincial silver medal.
