Doug Fox accepted the role of men's basketball coach at Humber College in 1978. He was hired full time in 1979 to oversee the new Humber athletic centre, and then went on to become one of the most successful athletic directors in the country.

Doug was the OCAA men's basketball senior convenor in the mid-1980s and spent time on both the OCAA and CCAA executive committees, serving as OCAA president from 1995 to 1997, and CCAA president from 2006 to 2008.
