The name Hap Holman and OCAA curling are inseparable. Holman was OCAA Convenor in curling from 1985-86 to 1987-88 and CCAA Convenor for the 1989-90 season. He again served the OCAA as Convenor from 1991-96.

Holman, with his wife Evie, were heavily involved with the Mohawk Curling teams and Hap was their coach for almost 30 years. Hap, as his nickname implies, loved people, curling and sportsmanship.

At the OCAA championships, the mixed team Fair Play Award is named after Hap. In 1997, Holman was given the Shield Award for his years of dedicated service.
