Cindy Huras was the head coach of Fanshawe College's badminton team for eight years from 2000 to 2008.

During her tenure, she posted a record of five OCAA gold medals, one OCAA silver medal, three OCAA bronze medals, one CCAA bronze and one overall team championship in the 2006-07 season. Huras was also named the CCAA Ontario team coach for the 2006-07 season.

As a player Huras was a Junior Pan Am player for Team Canada in 1977-78, ranked in the Top 10 in Canada in 1978-79 and was part of the Ontario Winter Games in 1984-85.

Currently, Huras teaches and certifies coaches through Badminton Ontario and the National Coaching Certification Program as a course conductor.
