Andre Proulx began his collegiate career in 1976 with the Algonquin Thunder men's volleyball team.

Proulx led the Thunder to two provincial championships in 1976-77 and 1977-78. For his performance, he was named as an OCAA first-team all-star in each of his two seasons with the Thunder. At the time, Proulx was also a valued member of the national junior program.

Proulx continued his volleyball career by working as an OVA official for a number of years before returning to his collegiate roots in the late 1980s, serving as the Algonquin men's volleyball coach.
