PENNY RUSH (GOSSELIN)

Category: Athlete
Sport: Skiing
Institution: Fleming College (Peterborough)
Inducted: 2005

Penny Rush representing Fleming College (Peterborough) on the medal podium is one thing that you could always count on at the OCAA skiing championships between 1988-1994.

When Rush broke onto the scene in 1988-89, she led Fleming to its first and only women's team championship by placing first in Slalom and third in Giant Slalom (second overall).

Similar to her rookie season, Rush dominated the slopes placing first in Slalom and third in Giant Slalom for the next three years. In 1991-92, Rush's performance at the provincial championship was good enough to earn her the women's individual gold medal.

Over her colligate career, Rush was recognized as female athlete of the year by Fleming (Peterborough) three times.

Upon graduation, she went on to coach the ski team from 1995-97.
