A native of Oshawa, Ont., Michael Stauffer began his three-year collegiate career at Durham College in 1993. A two-sport athlete in golf and curling, Stauffer was the recipient of several OCAA awards, including seven championship medals in his three years at Durham.

This outstanding golfer picked up two gold medals including a men's overall individual title in 1995-96 and a team title in 1993-94. In addition to his championship titles, Stauffer added two bronze medals to his resume, including a men's individual bronze in 1993-94 and a team bronze in 1994-95.

In curling, Stauffer recorded two gold medals as he skipped the Lords to titles in 1994-95 and 1995-96. In addition, he was also a silver medal curling team member in 1993-94.

Stauffer also excelled away from the playing field as he received the Keith Fletcher Memorial Scholarship award in 1995-96 for his outstanding leadership and overall involvement in sport at Durham College. His college career was capped off in 1994-95 with his selection as Durham's William Avery Male Athlete of the Year.

Mike Stauffer was inducted in the Durham College Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.
