A native of Gads Hill near Stratford, Ont., Matt Stevers played basketball for Lambton College and today remains in Lambton's history books as the all-time scoring leader with an average of 18.0 points per game. He scored 108 field goals in the 2003-04 season alone, 39 of which beyond the three-point arc.

Stevers was also named an OCAA first-team all-star in 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. He was awarded for his athletic and academic achievement in 2004 earning the CCAA academic all-Canadian award and was also named Lambton College's Male Athlete of the Year.
