Named OCAA Rookie of the Year and a Central West/West Division Second-Team All-Star in 2006-07, Ryan helped lead Redeemer to a berth at the OCAA championship that season. Ryan was named an OCAA West Division First-Team All-Star in 2008-09 along with a CCAA All-Canadian repeat. His final season was the most memorable, however, helping deliver Redeemer's first-ever men's OCAA league sport medal as the Royals won bronze in 2009-10. Ryan reached 300 points that season, and was once again named a OCAA West Division First-Team All-Star and CCAA All-Canadian, along with being recognized as an OCAA Championship All-Star and OCAA Male Athlete of the Year.

Ryan ended his OCAA career with 907 points and 719 kills, both league records at the time. He is also a three-time Redeemer Male Athlete of the Year.
