TORONTO - Georgian College's Jed Bricknell (Alliston, Ont.) and St. Lawrence College's Travis Zelinski (Kingston, Ont.) are the co-2021 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men's Rugby Players of the Year.

Bricknell, a third-year second row player, played in all four of Georgian's regular season matches, helping lead the Grizzlies to a 2-1-1 record, good for second place in the OCAA. Zelinski, a fourth-year prop, also played in four games for St. Lawrence, scoring four tries leading the Surge to the regular season championship with a record of 3-0-1. Both Bricknell and Zelinski are OCAA All-Stars.

Bricknell's teammate James Robb-Kennedy (Barrie, Ont.) is the OCAA Rookie of the Year. The scrum half scored one try in four matches for Georgian. Robb-Kennedy is also an OCAA All-Star.

Denis Aseltine of St. Lawrence is the OCAA Coach of the Year. The Surge won the regular season championship, scoring a league-high 86 points. It marks St. Lawrence's first regular season championship since its Division II days back in 2008.

St. Lawrence's Samuel Meindl (Trenton, Ont.) is the OCAA Scoring Champion. The first-year scrum half booted nine converts and one penalty kick totalling 21 points. Meindl is also an OCAA All-Star.

Other OCAA All-Stars include Malcolm Hooper (Orangeville, Ont.), Patrick Lynch (Oshawa, Ont.) and Jack MacIntosh (Whitby, Ont.) of Durham; Donovan Jacko (Brampton, Ont.) and Daniel Martyn (Barrie, Ont.) of Georgian; Prince Ndukwe (Scarborough, Ont.) and Zack Shurtleff (Toronto, Ont.) of Humber; Charles Oulton (Napanee, Ont.), Zachary Raymond (Kingston, Ont.) and Evan Sim-Spence (Kingston, Ont.) of St. Lawrence; and Tristian Hylton-Hastings (Mississauga, Ont.) of Sheridan.
