CCAA Bronze Semi-Final: Geants de Saint-Jean 81, Mohawk Mountaineers 59
The Geants de Saint-Jean are moving on to the CCAA bronze medal match after a dominant second-half performance led them to an 81-59 victory over Mohawk.
Mohawk came out strong, taking the first quarter 27-24, and the game remained tight heading into halftime, all tied up. But Saint-Jean took control in the third, outscoring Mohawk 23-8 to build a commanding lead. They didn't let up in the fourth, adding another 20 points to seal the win.
Kayla Couturier was a force for Saint-Jean, dropping 25 points to earn Player of the Game honors.
Angong Jacob, who had been a key scorer for Mohawk throughout the tournament, was named Player of the Game for her team.
CCAA Semi-Final: St. Mary's Lightning 65, Mohawk Mountaineers 57
In a hard-fought battle, the St. Mary's Lightning secured their spot in the CCAA Women's Basketball National Championship final with a 65-57 win over Mohawk College in Game 3 of Day 2.
The game was neck-and-neck from the start, with both teams locked at 14-14 after the first quarter. The Lightning gained momentum before halftime, taking a slight edge, but Mohawk responded in the third, putting up 17 points to keep the pressure on.
The fourth quarter saw intense back-and-forth action, but St. Mary's stayed composed, making key plays down the stretch to clinch the win and move on to the championship game.
Players of the Game were Jazmyn Kellog with a 30-point performance (St. Mary's Lightning) and Kendra Oliver (Mohawk).
The Lightning now set their sights on the CCAA National Championship final, while Mohawk will battle for bronze.
CCAA Quarter-Final: Mohawk Mountaineers 62, VIU Mariners 57
The Mohawk Mountaineers started strong and held on late to secure a 62-57 victory over the VIU Mariners in the opening game of the 2025 CCAA Women's Basketball National Championship at the Currie Center.
Mohawk set the tone early, building a 35-27 lead at halftime. VIU fought back in the third quarter, led by Harriette Mackenzie, who finished with 20 points, helping the Mariners close the gap.
However, Angong Jacob took over for Mohawk, dropping 26 points, including four three-pointers, to earn Player of the Game honours and seal the win for the Mountaineers.
Mohawk now moves on to the next stage, while VIU looks to regroup for their next matchup.
