OVERALL MALE: Mario Orestano, Humber,
Men's Indoor Soccer
Mario Orestano (Woodbridge, Ont.) was named
tournament most valuable player at the OCAA Men's Indoor Soccer
Championship for the second straight season. The OCAA outdoor
soccer all-star led his Humber teammates to an overall record of
4-0-1 at the championship, including a 3-0 victory over Seneca in
the gold medal match. Humber has won back-to-back men's indoor
championships and three titles in the past four seasons. Overall,
Humber has won 12 men's indoor titles since 1995.
OVERALL FEMALE: Kat Conde, Humber,
Women's Indoor Soccer
Humber goalkeeper Kat Conde (Toronto) was named
tournament most valuable player at the OCAA Women's Indoor Soccer
Championship. Conde led her teammates to an overall record of
4-0-1, including a 4-0 victory over Seneca in the gold medal match.
Conde was the last line of defence during the semi-finals when
Humber required penalty kicks to defeat Durham 2-1. Humber has won
consecutive women's indoor soccer championships, and three titles
in the past four seasons.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Romaine Lawrence, Algonquin
Second-year guard Romaine Lawrence (Toronto) of
Algonquin was named player of the game at the recent OCAA all-star
game at Centennial College. The OCAA East region first-team
all-star scored a game-high 30 points, contributing a consistent 15
points in each half in Team East's 114-110 victory over Team West.
Lawrence led Algonquin in scoring during the regular season
averaging 16.4 points per game, making him one of the top dozen
scorers in OCAA.
FEMALE: Corina Bruni, Algoma
All-Canadian Corina Bruni (Sault Ste. Marie,
Ont.) of Algoma was named player of the game at the recent OCAA
all-star game at Centennial College. The third-year point guard led
all players with 17 points as her Team West squad defeated Team
East 73-69. The OCAA West region first-team all-star ranked fourth
among OCAA players with 264 points, third in steals with 65 and
second in assists with 84 during the regular season. She ranked
seventh with her 14.7 points per game average.

OVERALL MALE: Andrew Cicuttini, Mohawk, Men's
Basketball
Second-year forward Andrew Cicuttini (Dundas,
Ont.) was named tournament most valuable player at the recent
Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Basketball
National Championship in Truro, N.S. Cicuttini contributed a pair
of double-doubles, and averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds in three
games, well above his regular season average of 10.2 points and 8.4
rebounds. Cicuttini's contributions helped the Mountaineers win
their first national title.
OVERALL FEMALE: Abeer Farhat, Algonquin,
Women's Basketball
First-year guard Abeer Farhat (Ottawa) was named
a tournament second-team all-star at the recent CCAA Women's
Basketball National Championship in Lethbridge, Alta. Farhat
averaged 28.5 points in three games. She was named Algonquin's
player of the game in its 74-62 quarter-final victory over the UNBC
Timberwolves after scoring 23 points while adding eight assists.
Farhat is a member of the OCAA East region second-team all-stars as
well as a member of its all-rookie team.
BASKETBALL

Terrel Bramwell (Mississauga, Ont.) of Humber was
named Team West player of the game at the recent OCAA all-star
game. Bramwell contributed a match-high 16 points on 10 kills, five
aces and one block as Team West defeated Team East 3-1 (25-21,
25-17, 22-25, 25-21). Bramwell was tournament MVP at nationals, an
all-Canadian, an OCAA tournament all-star as well as an OCAA West
first-team all-star.
FEMALE: Brittany Ardron, Nipissing
Reigning OCAA rookie of the year Brittany Ardron
(Lakefield, Ont.) of Nipissing was named Team West player of the
game at the recent OCAA all-star game. Ardron led all players with
14 offensive points on seven kills, four serving aces and three
stuff blocks, while also adding 10 digs. Team West defeated Team
East 3-2 (13-25, 25-23, 25-20, 14-25, 15-13). Ardron was a
tournament all-star at the OCAA championship, as well as a West
region first-team all-star.

Men's Volleyball
Humber third-year right side Terrel Bramwell
(Mississauga, Ont.) had a memorable week at the Canadian Collegiate
Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Volleyball National Championship.
First he was named CCAA player of the year. Bramwell followed this
up earning tournament MVP honours, leading the Hawks to their
first-ever national championship. Bramwell struck for 98 kills in
three matches, including 43 in a 3-1 (25-21, 30-28, 21-25, 26-24)
win over Douglas College in the gold medal game.

Championship. Overzet totaled 34 kills, 11 digs, nine blocks and
one service ace in four matches, as Humber finished in fourth
place, tying its best-ever finish at nationals. She was second on
the Hawks averaging 3.2 points per set during the regular season.
Overzet is also a member of the OCAA champion women's rugby
team.

Basketball
Fourth-year guard Manny Campbell (Burlington,
Ont.) was named tournament most valuable player at the recent OCAA
Men's Basketball Championship. In three tournament games, Campbell
scored 48 points and earned 15 assists while grabbing eight
rebounds and completing six steals. Campbell and his teammates
celebrated Mohawk's first OCAA men's basketball title in 40
seasons. Prior to the tourney, Campbell was named an OCAA West
region second-team all-star.
OVERALL FEMALE: Sandre Bascoe, Algonquin, Women's
Basketball
Third-year forward Sandre Bascoe (Ottawa) was
named tournament most valuable player at the recent OCAA Women's
Basketball Championship. Bascoe earned two double-doubles in three
games, scoring a total of 50 points while grabbing 40 rebounds.
Algonquin repeated as OCAA champions with a thrilling
double-overtime win over Seneca in the final. Bascoe is the OCAA
women's basketball player of the year, an OCAA East region
first-team all-star, and an all-Canadian.

Volleyball
Humber fourth-year setter Derek Quinn
(Mississauga, Ont.) was named tournament most valuable player at
the recent OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship. In three matches,
Quinn totaled 10 points on three kills, five aces and two blocks.
He was named player of the game in the final against Nipissing,
serving up an ace to clinch Humber's third consecutive OCAA title.
Prior to the tournament, Quinn was named an OCAA West region
second-team all-star.
OVERALL FEMALE: Kelly Nyhof, Humber, Women's
Volleyball
Humber third-year middle Kelly Nyhof (Georgetown,
Ont.) was named tournament most valuable player at the recent OCAA
Women's Volleyball Championship. In three matches, Nyhof totaled 44
points on 33 kills, 10 blocks and one ace. She was named player of
the game in a semi-final win against Nipissing. Prior to the
tournament, Nyhof was named the OCAA women's volleyball player of
the year, an OCAA West region first-team all-star, and an
all-Canadian.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Dele Oworu, Algoma
Algoma fifth-year forward Dele Oworu (Winnipeg)
earned a double-double in a 74-69 sudden death playoff victory over
George Brown. Oworu scored a game-high 28 points while adding 13
rebounds, seven of which came in the defensive end of the court. He
also added a pair of assists and a steal. Oworu averaged a
double-double throughout the regular season producing 13.4 points
and 11.6 rebounds per game. Algoma is off to the OCAA Men's
Basketball Championship later this week.
FEMALE: Michelle Asare, Sheridan
Sheridan third-year guard Michelle Asare
(Brampton, Ont.) was strong down the stretch in a 89-53 sudden
death playoff win at Fleming-Peterborough. Asare finished the game
with 20 points while contributing six rebounds, three steals and
one assist. Asare averaged 13.1 points per game during the regular
season. With the win, Sheridan advances to the OCAA Women's
Basketball Championship, a tournament in which the Bruins have
appeared in the final for four straight seasons.
VOLLEYBALL
MALE: Derek Quinn, Humber

OVERALL MALE: Dayvon Reid, George Brown,
Badminton
George Brown fourth-year player Dayvon Reid is
now a four-time medalist at the OCAA Badminton Championships,
successfully defending his men's doubles title along with his
partner Mark Wong. The duo did not lose a set at
provincials. Prior to the OCAA Badminton Championships, Reid was
named OCAA men's badminton player of the year. He is also an
all-Canadian, and is a nominee for the Canadian Collegiate Athletic
Association (CCAA) men's player of the year.
OVERALL FEMALE: Tracy Wong, Humber, Badminton
Humber second-year player Tracy Wong continues to
be the queen of the court, winning her second straight OCAA
badminton women's singles crown. Wong did not lose a set at the
provincials, and remains undefeated in her two years in OCAA. Prior
to the OCAA Badminton Championships, Wong was named OCAA women's
badminton player of the year for the second straight season. She is
now a two-time all-Canadian, and is a nominee for the CCAA women's
player of the year.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Aminu Bello, Mohawk
In the semi-annual crosstown game against Redeemer, fifth-year
guard Aminu Bello (Hamilton, Ont.) scored a
game-high 37 points while contributing four rebounds and four
assists as Mohawk earned a 97-58 victory on Feb. 16. Bello is the
top offensive player in the OCAA West region, averaging 24.0 points
per contest. He has contributed an average of 29.7 points his last
three games. Bello is also one of the best shooters in OCAA with a
50.5 shooting percentage.
FEMALE: Atissa Cronk, Humber
Humber first-year forward Atissa Cronk (Kingston,
Ont.) scored a total of 29 points in a pair of road victories over
St. Clair and Lambton. Cronk contributed a dozen points, six
rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block in a 63-41 win over
St. Clair on Feb. 18. Cronk followed this up with a double-double
against Lambton on Feb. 19, scoring 17 points while grabbing 15
rebounds. Cronk is a key reason why Humber is undefeated in
February, winning six straight.
VOLLEYBALL
MALE: Dave McMann, Durham
Durham fifth-year middle David McMann (Elmvale,
Ont.) broke another OCAA record this past week, this time for
career stuff blocks. McMann now has 206 for his career, one more
than previous record holder Corey Cole of St. Clair. McMann
recorded 83 blocks during the regular season, which is also an OCAA
record. Just for good measure, McMann earned six blocks as part of
19 total points in a 3-1 (23-25, 27-25, 25-12, 25-23) playoff win
over Fanshawe on Feb. 18.
FEMALE: Sara Rettie, Trent
Trent fourth-year middle Sara Rettie (Newmarket,
Ont.) earned a match-high 18 points as the Excalibur outlasted
Sheridan 3-2 (17-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 16-14) in a crossover
playoff game on Feb. 18. Rettie contributed 11 kills, five blocks
and two aces in the victory. Rettie averaged 2.2 points per set
during the regular season. Trent has earned a spot at the upcoming
OCAA Women's Volleyball Championship, taking place at Georgian
College in Barrie, Ont. starting this Thursday.

MALE: Dave McMann, Durham, Men's
Volleyball
Durham fifth-year middle David McMann (Elmvale,
Ont.) broke the OCAA regular season record for stuff blocks in a
3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 25-22) victory over Loyalist on Feb. 7,
surpassing the previous mark of 69 shared by three players. McMann
now has 78 for the 2011-12 season after four blocks against
Loyalist and eight more in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-22) win over
George Brown on Feb. 10. Durham has one more match at Georgian on
Wednesday before it enters post-season play.
FEMALE: Shaniqua Wilson, George Brown,
Women's Basketball
George Brown first-year guard Shaniqua Wilson
(Toronto) put together her best two offensive performances of her
young OCAA career. Wilson scored 13 points while adding eight
rebounds and four steals in a 71-57 win over Durham on Feb. 8.
Wilson then scored a game-high 21 points in a 67-40 win at Georgian
on Feb. 10. She also contributed four rebounds, four steals and two
assists. Wilson has averaged 10.8 points in six games with the
Huskies.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Boyd Vassel, Fanshawe
Fanshawe second-year guard Boyd Vassel
(Kitchener, Ont.) scored a combined 53 points in a pair of games.
Vassel scored a game-high 24 points in a 72-50 win at Redeemer on
Feb. 8. He also contributed five rebounds, four assists and two
steals. Vassel then scored a game-high 29 points in a 73-62 win
over Lambton on Feb. 10. He also added seven rebounds, three
assists and two steals to his totals. Vassel is the top offensive
producer on the Falcons averaging 17.8 points per game.
FEMALE: Shaniqua Wilson, George Brown
George Brown first-year guard Shaniqua Wilson
(Toronto) put together her best two offensive performances of her
young OCAA career. Wilson scored 13 points while adding eight
rebounds and four steals in a 71-57 win over Durham on Feb. 8.
Wilson then scored a game-high 21 points in a 67-40 win at Georgian
on Feb. 10. She also contributed four rebounds, four steals and two
assists. Wilson has averaged 10.8 points in six games with the
Huskies.

(Spencerville, Ont.) helped her Knights secure a post-season berth
in a pair of wins. In a 3-2 (20-25, 25-23, 25-6, 21-25, 15-12) win
at Sheridan on Feb. 8, Ouimette contributed six kills, seven blocks
and four aces for a match-high 17 points. She then shared the team
lead with 16 points on 11 kills, four blocks and one ace in a 3-1
(21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-18) win at St. Clair on Feb. 12. Niagara
hosts Humber on Wednesday before playing host to a championship
qualifier.

OVERALL MALE: Kyle Donnan, Loyalist, Men's
Volleyball
Loyalist fifth-year left side Kyle Donnan
(Pickering, Ont.) continues to rewrite the OCAA record book,
setting the all-time mark for career points in last Friday's 3-0
(25-16, 26-24, 25-19) road victory over George Brown. With his nine
points against the Huskies, Donnan now has 911 offensive points for
his career, four more than previous OCAA record holder Ryan
Talsma (907) of Redeemer, established during the 2009-10
season. Donnan is also the all-time kills leader with 771 to his
credit.

Women's Basketball
Fleming-Peterborough second-year guard Kelly
Killoran (Sarnia, Ont.) broke the OCAA record for
three-point field goals in a single season in a 75-71 loss to
Georgian on Feb. 4. Her six three-pointers gives her 48 for the
season, surpassing the previous record of 45 set by Sara
Maybee of Loyalist in 2008-09. Killoran is the top scorer
on her team averaging 14.1 per game.

Volleyball
Georgian third-year player Natalie Buck (Keswick,
Ont.) recorded a game-high 15 offensive points in a 3-0 (25-22,
25-22, 25-21) upset win over Trent. Buck contributed 11 kills, two
service aces and two stuff blocks. Georgian lost to Trent in four
sets earlier in the season. With the victory, Georgian (11-6)
clinched a post-season berth in OCAA East region and still has an
opportunity to earn a bye into the OCAA championship. Georgian has
won three of its last four matches.

MALE: Mark Perrin, Humber
Humber second-year guard Mark Perrin (Toronto)
came up with his best offensive output of the season in a key 84-73
win over Sheridan on Feb. 1. Perrin had a game-high 29 points along
with nine rebounds, two assists and one steal. The win avenged an
earlier loss to Sheridan, and puts Humber (11-2) on the fast track
in the race for a top-two finish and berth into the OCAA
championship tournament. Perrin scored another 10 points in a 78-66
win at Redeemer on Feb. 4.
FEMALE: Kelly Killoran, Fleming-Peterborough
Fleming-Peterborough second-year guard Kelly
Killoran (Sarnia, Ont.) broke the OCAA record for

Georgian on Feb. 4. Her six three-pointers gives her 48 for the

Seneca fourth-year point guard Samantha Evans
(Scarborough, Ont.) scored a game-high 21 points and was one steal
short of a double-double in a 62-57 win over George Brown on Feb.
6. Evans also had seven rebounds and six assists. With the win,
Seneca (10-1) has a two-win advantage over third-place George
Brown, with the top two teams in the OCAA East region receiving
byes into the OCAA championship tournament. Seneca has won two
straight after opening the season with eight consecutive wins.
VOLLEYBALL

OVERALL MALE: Keith Marier, La Cite, Men's
Volleyball
La Cite second-year power Keith Marier (Ottawa)
broke the OCAA single season record for offensive points and kills
in a 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 25-21) loss at Durham on Saturday.
Marier earned 20 kills and added a stuff block for 21 points to
lift his regular season totals to 277 kills and 305 points,
surpassing the OCAA record of 304 points set by Seneca's
Kanitha Boranprasit in 2000-01, and 257 kills set
by Seneca's Jason Hernandez in 2010-11.
OVERALL FEMALE: Kimberly Cedros, Seneca, Women's
Volleyball
First-year player Kimberly Cedros (Toronto)
lifted her Seneca squad to a pair of weekend victories. Cedros
earned 15 kills and added two service aces for 17 points in a 3-1
(25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20) win over second-place Trent on Jan.
27. She followed this up with a 15-point effort on 10 kills and
five aces in a 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-17) win over George
Brown on Jan. 28. Seneca (8-7) leaped-frogged George Brown into
sixth place in the OCAA East region. The top six teams advance to
the playoffs.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Jovain Wilson, Algoma
Fourth-year guard Jovain Wilson (Pickering, Ont.)
scored 42 points in a pair of Algoma victories this past weekend.
Wilson scored a game-high 22 points and added five rebounds and
three steals in a 87-45 win at Lambton on Jan. 28. He followed this
up with a 20-point performance in a 97-47 victory at St. Clair on
Jan. 29. Wilson earned five rebounds, four steals and three assists
against St. Clair. Algoma (10-3) is the first team to hit the
10-win plateau in the OCAA West region.
FEMALE: Sandre Bascoe, Algonquin
The Algonquin Thunder have won 10 straight and Sandre
Bascoe (Ottawa) is a big reason why. The third-year
forward earned a double-double with a game-high 18 points and 14
rebounds in a 66-46 win over Durham on Jan. 27. Bascoe added
another 10 points and seven rebounds in addition to five steals in
a 70-39 win over Loyalist on Jan. 28. Bascoe is among the league

Marier earned 20 kills and added a stuff block for 21 points to
lift his regular season totals to 277 kills and 305 points,
surpassing the OCAA record of 304 points set by Seneca's
Kanitha Boranprasit in 2000-01, and 257 kills set
by Seneca's Jason Hernandez in 2010-11.
FEMALE: Kimberly Cedros, Seneca
First-year player Kimberly Cedros (Toronto)
lifted her Seneca squad to a pair of weekend victories. Cedros
earned 15 kills and added two service aces for 17 points in a 3-1
(25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20) win over second-place Trent on Jan.
27. She followed this up with a 15-point effort on 10 kills and
five aces in a 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-17) win over George
Brown on Jan. 28. Seneca (8-7) leaped-frogged George Brown into
sixth place in the OCAA East region. The top six teams advance to

scored another 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a hard-fought
62-60 win over La Cite on Jan. 20. Edwards has scored 49 points in

points in a 73-55 win over Durham on Jan. 20. Goff leads the

MALE: Tyler McGarrity, Durham
Tyler McGarrity (Ajax, Ont.) led Durham to an
80-77 victory over Fleming-Peterborough on Jan. 13. The team
captain led the team in scoring with 27 points and eight rebounds.
Fifteen of McGarrity's points came from beyond the arc as he led
all shooters with five three-pointers. It was a key win as Durham
(6-5) moved one game ahead of Fleming (5-6) and into sixth place in
the OCAA East region standings, with the top six teams qualifying
for the post-season.
FEMALE: Kaitlind Dutrizac, Fanshawe
Fifth-year guard Kaitlind Dutrizac (London, Ont.)
led all scorers with 20 points in Fanshawe's 56-51 win over Humber
on Jan. 12. Dutrizac also contributed four steals. She is currently
second in team scoring with 91 points on the season. Fanshawe leads
the OCAA West region with a 9-1 record, having won three straight
regular season contests. Fanshawe's only blemish of the season came
in a 63-50 loss to Algoma on Nov. 26.

First-year player Tristan Stern (Whitby, Ont.)
totaled 44 points and 23 rebounds in three games as Centennial
finished the fall semester with an OCAA-best 9-1 record. Centennial
had only seven victories last season. Stern earned double-double
with 21 points and 11 rebounds in a 72-51 loss to Algonquin on Dec.
2. He contributed 14 points in an 80-45 win over La Cite on Dec. 3,
then nine points in a 74-61 victory at George Brown on Dec. 7.
Stern is averaging 15.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Boone scored a try and four converts to lead the Humber Hawks to a second straight OCAA title. Humber defeated a previously unbeaten Seneca 43-13 on the road. Boone was the Division I scoring champion in 2011 and is also a two-time OCAA all-star.

Luke Shillington (Belleville, Ont.) was named Loyalist's Man of the Match in the Division II gold medal game. Shillington scored a try as Loyalist won its third straight OCAA title with a 15-7 win over Algonquin. Loyalist completed its third straight undefeated season going 6-0-0. The win completed a perfect season for the Hawks with an overall record of 8-0-0, and a second straight OCAA title.

MALE: William Shaw, Algonquin
Flanker William Shaw (Ottawa) scored a pair of tries in a 24-11 road victory over St. Lawrence-Kingston in the OCAA Division II semi-final on Nov. 5. Shaw led Algonquin with five tries in four regular season matches. Algonquin is now guaranteed an OCAA medal in its first-ever men's rugby season. Algonquin visits two-time OCAA champion Loyalist on Nov. 12 in the OCAA gold medal match.
FEMALE: Lindsey Bradbury, Humber
Lindsay Bradbury (Utopia, Ont.) scored three tries in Humber's 41-5 OCAA semi-final win over Algonquin on Nov. 5. With the victory, Humber is one win away from a second straight perfect season, having won 13 straight matches dating back to last season. Humber hosts upstart Conestoga in the OCAA gold medal match on Nov. 13 as the Hawks bid for a repeat title.

Sean Sweeney of George Brown won the 2011 OCAA men's individual cross country title on Oct. 29 at the Old Fort Henry course in Kingston, Ont. A two-time OCAA bronze medalist, Sweeney won his first OCAA title in a time of 25:34, thirty seconds ahead of his closest rival. Sweeney is the first George Brown student-athlete to win the OCAA men's individual title since 1988.
OVERALL FEMALE: Vicky Siemon, Humber, Cross Country
Vicky Siemon of Humber won the 2011 OCAA women's individual cross country title on Oct. 29 at the Old Fort Henry course in Kingston, Ont. Siemon won her first-ever OCAA medal in a time of 18:06, forty-one seconds ahead of her closest rival. Siemon also helped lead Humber to the OCAA women's and overall team titles. MALE: Graham McKelvey, Mohawk
Second-year centre Graham McKelvey (Brantford, Ont.) scored a pair of tries in Mohawk's 35-33 win over Fleming-Peterborough on Oct. 29 in an OCAA men's rugby qualifier. McKelvey doubled his 2011 offensive production in one match, having scored two tries in five matches during the regular season. With the win, Mohawk advances to the OCAA semi-final at Seneca on Nov. 5.
FEMALE: Caitlin Martin, Conestoga
Caitlin Martin (Waterloo, Ont.) scored four tries to lift Conestoga past Mohawk 70-12 on Oct. 29, and into the OCAA semi-finals. Her four tries gives Martin six total for the regular season. Conestoga finished in second place in the OCAA West region with a record of 3-3-0. Conestoga visits St. Lawrence-Kingston on Nov. 6 with a berth to the OCAA gold medal match on the line.
SOCCER
MALE: Stavros Badunas, Humber
Humber first-year defender Stavros Badunas (Brampton, Ont.) was named championship MVP at the 2011 OCAA Men's Soccer Championship Oct. 28-29. Badunas scored once in a 5-0 semi-final win over Conestoga. Badunas led a strong Humber defence that did not allow a goal in either match at the OCAA championship as it won its second straight provincial title. Humber defeated Sheridan 1-0 in the final.
FEMALE: Keyla Moreno, Humber
Humber fourth-year forward Keyla Moreno (Toronto) was named championship MVP at the 2011 OCAA Women's Soccer Championship Oct. 28-29. She scored the winning goal in a 2-0 semi-final win over Seneca, and was one of four Hawks to score in penalty kicks in a 2-1 win over Algonquin in the final. Moreno is also the 2011 OCAA player of the year, a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) all-Canadian and an OCAA all-star.

OVERALL MALE: Adrian Cord, Humber, Golf
Adrian Cord of Humber won the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) men's individual golf championship on Oct. 21, holding off teammate Mark Hoffman for a two-stroke victory. Cord finished the rain-shortened 36-hole tournament at two-under par. Cord is a two-time OCAA silver medalist, and last year's CCAA bronze medalist. Humber also won the CCAA men's team championship.
OVERALL FEMALE: Brittany Bell, Durham, Women's Fastball
Brittany Bell (New Hamburg, Ont.) was named OCAA Women's Fastball Championship most valuable player, lifting Durham to a second straight provincial title. The first-year shortstop had a .714 batting average for the tournament, and was 2-for-3 in the gold medal game against Humber, scoring two runs. Durham defeated Humber 7-1. It marks Durham's 16th OCAA banner in women's fastball.
FASTBALL
TOP PITCHER: Shannon Galea, Durham
Shannon Galea of Durham was named the top pitcher at the OCAA Women's Fastball Championship from Oct. 22-23. Galea started two games against Humber, allowing just one run over 14 total innings as Durham won its second straight OCAA title. The Oshawa, Ont., product struck out 22 batters in two complete games, allowing five hits while walking three. Durham defeated Humber 2-0 in the opening game, and 7-1 in the gold medal final.
TOP BATTER: Shannon Ferguson, Durham
Shannon Ferguson of Durham was named the top batter at the OCAA Women's Fastball Championship from Oct. 22-23. The Brockville, Ont., native batted .667 in three games, recording two base hits in each game. She drove in one run, and scored one run. Durham went 3-0 at the tournament to win their 16th OCAA championship, and second in consecutive years. Durham has not lost an OCAA regular season or playoff game since 2009.
RUGBY
MALE: Phil Boone, Humber
Phil Boone (Brampton, Ont.) proved to be an unstoppable force on Oct. 22, scoring three tries while adding four converts for Humber in a 43-22 win over Mohawk. The meeting between these clubs was a rematch of last year's OCAA gold medal game. Humber finished the Division I men's rugby regular season with a 4-1-0 record, clinching second place and earning a bye into the semi-finals.
FEMALE: Juletta Cull, St. Lawrence-Kingston
Juletta Cull (Douglas, Ont.) scored three tries while adding four converts in St. Lawrence-Kingston's 53-10 win over Fleming-Lindsay on Oct. 22. St. Lawrence's only blemish on an undefeated 4-0-1 regular season record was a 15-15 tie against Fleming-Lindsay on Oct. 1. First place in the OCAA East region is on the line on Oct. 30 when St. Lawrence visits Algonquin (4-1-0).
SOCCER
MALE: Jordan Lidia, St. Clair
St. Clair travelled approximately 800 km for its OCAA men's soccer quarter-final game against Algonquin on Oct. 22. Jordan Lidia (Leamington, Ont.) made the trip worthwhile, netting a hat trick in a 3-1 win, sending St. Clair to the OCAA championship tournament for the first time since 2008. St. Clair faces Sheridan in an OCAA semi-final match on Oct. 28.
FEMALE: Jory-Lynn Uyl, Fanshawe
Jory-Lynn Uyl (Blyth, Ont.) scored two goals, including one in overtime, to lift Fanshawe to a 2-1 win over Durham on home turf in its OCAA women's soccer quarter-final match on Oct. 22. The win puts Fanshawe in its third straight OCAA championship tournament. Fanshawe will meet Algonquin in a rematch of its 2010 OCAA semi-final game on Oct. 28.

La Cite's Jose Bruno Mota scored four goals in two games, including a hat trick in a 3-1 win at Durham on Oct 15. Mota added another goal the following day in a 3-3 tie at Seneca. Mota has scored 10 goals in five matches this season, and with two matches to go, should have a lock on another scoring championship. Mota scored 14 goals last season.

Shelby Robblee had six hits in a doubleheader split against Seneca on Oct. 15. Robblee went 3-for-4 for three RBI in a 10-5 loss before going 3-for-3, scoring two runs and contributing four RBI in a 12-6 win. Robblee ended the regular season as the team leader in RBI with 12 and a .481 batting average. Her 13 hits were one shy of the team lead. Humber (5-5) hosts Conestoga (1-9) in an OCAA qualifying game on Tuesday.

MALE: Jesse Lofthouse, Seneca
Jesse Lofthouse scored a pair of tries in Seneca's 29-15 win over Humber on Oct. 13 in a battle of unbeaten clubs. With the win, Seneca (4-0-0) clinches first place in OCAA Division I men's rugby with one regular season match to go. Seneca earns a bye and home field advantage throughout the OCAA post-season. Seneca has not won an OCAA men's rugby championship since 2005-06.
FEMALE: Dana Darlington, St. Lawrence-Kingston
Dana Darlington scored a pair of tries in the St. Lawrence Vikings 20-5 win over Loyalist on Oct. 15. The win propelled St. Lawrence (3-0-1) to first place in the OCAA East region. Darlington has scored five tries during the regular season, scoring at least one try in each of her four matches. The Vikings are one of two unbeaten teams in OCAA women's rugby.

OVERALL MALE: Mark Hoffman, Humber, Men's Golf
Mark Hoffman came back from eight strokes down at the OCAA golf championships to claim his second consecutive OCAA men's individual title, one shot better than Humber teammate Adrian Cord. Hoffman posted a four-under 68 in the final round for a 54-hole total of 216. Both Hoffman and Cord represented Canada last August at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China.
OVERALL FEMALE: Tiffany Albath, Durham, Women's Golf
Tiffany Albath won the OCAA women's individual title at the OCAA golf championships, posting back-to-back rounds of 79 for a 54-hole total of 242. Albath finished three strokes better than last year's champion and teammate Kayleigh Kraemer. Both Albath and Kraemer are from Andernach, Germany. Albath was the OCAA silver medalist last season.
FASTBALL
TOP PITCHER: Jessica O'Quinn, Humber
Named OCAA batter of the week on Oct. 4, Jessica O'Quinn earns top pitching honours after toeing the rubber in both games of a doubleheader sweep of Conestoga on Oct. 5. O'Quinn pitched 11 innings in total, allowing four earned runs on 13 hits and four walks while striking out six. Humber won 6-5 and 7-2 to improve to 4-4 on the season, moving it closer to automatic entry into the OCAA championship tournament.
TOP BATTER: Jessica Pike, Durham
Jessica Pike was a key component in Durham's doubleheader sweep of Seneca on Oct. 4. Overall Pike went 3-for-6 at the plate, driving in three runs while scoring two times. Durham defeated Seneca 11-1 and 6-0 to improve to 6-0 on the season. The defending OCAA champions have played all their games on the road so far this season, but that changes Thursday when Durham hosts Mohawk in a doubleheader.
RUGBY
MALE: Eric Jadowski, St. Lawrence-Kingston
Eric Jadowski scored a try in the game's dying minutes to give St. Lawrence-Kingston its first victory of the season, 31-27, over then undefeated Algonquin on Oct. 6. The win improved St. Lawrence's record to 1-1 while Algonquin dropped to 2-1 in what is shaping up to be a tight OCAA Division II race. St. Lawrence is currently seven points behind Algonquin with a match in hand.
FEMALE: Noelle Coughlin, Fleming-Lindsay
Noelle Coughlin of Fleming-Lindsay earned a try and a convert for a team-high seven points in a 22-12 win over Loyalist on Oct. 5. The victory was Fleming's first of the season, and improved its record to 1-1-1. It also guarantees that Fleming will improve on last year's record of 1-3-0. Fleming is currently six points behind first place St. Lawrence-Kingston.
SOCCER
MALE: Robert Malbasic, St. Clair
Robert Malbasic earned a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Lambton on Oct. 4 to become the OCAA's all-time leading scorer. His 49 career goals surpassed the previous record of 47 held by Fleming-Peterborough's Mike Everson during the 1981-82 through 1983-84 seasons. Similar to Everson, Malbasic is a former two-time scoring champion in the OCAA. St. Clair is in a battle for a playoff berth in the OCAA West region.
FEMALE: Jennifer Begley, Fanshawe
Jennifer Begley scored three goals in a pair of matches, including a key 3-1 victory over Sheridan on Oct 5 which gave Fanshawe the inside track to clinching second place in the OCAA West region, and a home playoff game. Begley also had a two-goal performance against Lambton on Oct. 7, a 6-0 win. Fanshawe can clinch second place with a win this week.

Goalkeeper Shawna Druif has not allowed a goal in three matches this season, as Redeemer has jumped out to a 3-0-0 record. Redeemer opened the season with a 3-0 win against Niagara last Tuesday, followed by a 2-0 victory over Lambton on Friday and a 1-0 win over St. Clair on Saturday. All three matches were played at Redeemer. Druif faces a tough test against defending OCAA champion Humber on Wednesday.

Twenty-seven percent of St. Clair's runs were a direct result of Stiles' contributions. Overall Stiles was 5-for-12 with seven runs and one RBI. St. Clair currently leads the OCAA standings with a 4-0 record.

Danielle Pauze made Conestoga's debut in OCAA women's rugby a winning one, scoring a game-winning try in a 10-7 victory over Seneca on Sunday. OCAA women's rugby was introduced as a trial sport in 2010, resulting in a number of new schools debuting in the sport in 2011. Making Conestoga's first win all that more impressive was that Seneca was an OCAA silver medalist in 2010.

MALE: Cameo Ellis, Sheridan
Coming off a season where he was named an all-Canadian, Sheridan's Cameo Ellis scored a pair of goals in a 5-1 win at Lambton on Saturday. The OCAA all-star defender doubled his total 2010 offensive output in just one match. Sheridan is coming off an OCAA silver medal performance in 2010 as it aims this season to reach the pinnacle of OCAA men's soccer for the first time since 1992.
FEMALE: Samantha Fowles, Conestoga
Samantha Fowles had an OCAA debut to remember last Friday, scoring all three goals in Conestoga's season opening 3-0 win over Mohawk. Fowles is among the OCAA league leaders in goals through two games. Conestoga fell short in last year's OCAA quarter-finals, losing to Seneca in penalty kicks. Conestoga has not won an OCAA championship since 1992.
