Meaghan Rudd of the Redeemer University Royals has been named the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Soccer Coach of the Year.
Under Coach Rudd's leadership, the Redeemer Royals have posted a stellar 9-1-2 season in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), with notable improvements in their defensive organization and offensive execution.
This season, Coach Rudd has strengthened the team's chemistry, bolstered defensive tactics, and increased physical conditioning, enabling the Royals to achieve the highest goals-scored tally in their history. With a focus on collaboration, Rudd has cultivated a program rooted in mutual effort, emphasizing the leadership of team captain Adrianna Kanisek and a structured Royals Leadership Training Program to create a cohesive and resilient squad.
CCAA Women's Soccer Convenor Marlene Ford remarked, "The Royals had a dominant season in the very tough OCAA West Division focusing on physical fitness, staying focused for 90 minutes and capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Coach Rudd ensures all varsity athletes have a good balance of academics and athletics and takes pride in developing individuals on and off the field who will become our future leaders."
Coach Rudd's holistic approach to development extends well beyond the soccer field. A former Royals student-athlete herself, she prioritizes spiritual growth and academic success, mentoring her players with a commitment to the character and faith that defines the program. Rudd fosters an inclusive environment that nurtures personal and team growth, preparing her athletes to be leaders on the field and beyond.
