Michele McConney spent over 38 years at Georgian College as an athletic administrator and played an integral role at Georgian College in enhancing the profile of athletics.

Michele was involved in and led many improvements to Georgian's athletic facilities, including the Student and Athletic Centre and its expansion, and more recently the opening of the J.C. Massie Field, the first turf sports field in Barrie and on-campus home for the Grizzlies.

In addition to Michele's work at Georgian, Michele served for over 16 years in various roles with the OCAA, including 1st Vice President and Vice President Programs on the OCAA Executive Committee.

Michele was also involved at the national level as the CCAA Women's Volleyball Convenor for 11 straight seasons (1991-2002) then joining the CCAA Executive as Vice President Governance from 2014-18. Michele was recognized as a "CCAA Senator" in 2018 for Michele's extensive work with the national association.

Just prior to Michele's retirement in August 2019, Michele was honoured with the Doug Light Lifetime Achievement Award by the College Administrators Network for an administrator who has significantly influenced college education throughout their career.

Michele has been an advocate within the OCAA and the CCAA for student-athletes and in particular women's sport development and is a very deserving candidate for the OCAA Hall of Fame.
