David Sharratt was a cross country athlete with the Conestoga Condors for three seasons beginning in 2007. David raced to the OCAA gold medal at the provincial championships held at Fort Henry in Kingston that season in a 8 km time of 27:05, fifteen seconds faster than the runner-up, and led the Condors to the men's team silver medal. It was a historic moment for Conestoga, as David was the first-ever Condor to win an OCAA cross country gold medal, and it was the first time the men's team reached the podium. David and the Condors went on to place fifth at nationals individually and as a team.
David successfully defended the OCAA gold medal at provincials the following season, become just the sixth individual to do so. David raced to a time of 28:19, and helped lead Conestoga to its first-ever OCAA men's team championship. Returning to Fort Henry for the national race, David raced to sixth place, with the Condors taking fourth place as a team.
David raced one last season in 2009, finishing 21st at provincials, followed by a 30th place finish at nationals. Conestoga placed fifth as a team at provincials and sixth at nationals. Overall, David was named an OCAA All-Academic three times, Conestoga College Athlete of the Year twice, and was induced into the Conestoga Condor Hall of Fame in 2015. David is currently cross country head coach of the Condors.
