MIKE CARUSO

Category: Athlete
Sport: Men's Soccer
Institution: Algonquin College
Inducted: 2009

Mike Caruso enjoyed a very successful four-year career with the Algonquin Thunder men's soccer program as one of his generation's top strikers. Upon the completion of his playing days, Mike earned his way into the OCAA record book and is currently ranked as the OCAA's sixth all-time leading scorer with 34 goals to his credit.

Accolades were not uncommon for Mike as he was recognized as an OCAA all-star during his tenure on the pitch and as a CCAA national championship tournament all-star after his Thunder team earned their way after capturing the OCAA gold medal in the 1999-2000 season. During the 1998-99 season, Mike was also named a CCAA all-Canadian for his outstanding effort. Noted for his leadership ability, Mike was also named at the Thunder's captain for three years.

Outside of the OCAA, Mike has played on what seems to be every select and showcase team imaginable, including taking advantage of an opportunity to play in France for a short period of time.

Caruso was named as a member of the OCAA Men's Soccer All-Millennium Team.
