CANADORE 112, CENTENNIAL 96

NORTH BAY, Ont. - The Canadore Panthers men's varsity basketball team defeated the third place Centennial Colts today in the Education Centre gymnasium with a triple digit score.

Canadore's top scorer was Mike Costello with 25 points.

The first half of the game saw these two teams neck in neck, as the score was tied several times throughout the first 40 minutes of play. Coming into the game in 10th place in the East Division, the Panthers surprised the third place Colts team by taking the lead in the third, a lead that they didn't lose.

Today's game was the first game this season that saw the Panthers score reach over the 100 point mark, showing just how much of a force they can be offensively. Canadore captain Christian Casimier came on with three minutes left in the fourth quarter and put up a huge dunk to motivate the team to finish the game out strong.

Head coach Stacy Gallagher was happy with what he saw on the court today. "Our fast break game and running the floor really helped today. The overall team play is what sent us over the edge to be able to finish and close out the game to get the win."

Player of the game Costello, was also the Panther's top scorer. He commented after the game, "The guys came out with shots right from the start. It was nice to see us play a full four quarters and come out with the win."
