ALGONQUIN 3, TRENT 0 (FINAL)

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - The Trent Excalibur tried to hang with the big dogs, but fell short as they lost 3-0 to the nationally ranked Algonquin Thunder.  The Excalibur hung tight in the first two sets, falling 25-12 and 25-22, before losing the third 25-15.

The Excalibur finish the season with a 4-16 record with the loss.

After not playing in Friday's win over La Cite due to an illness, Trent's Chris Jacklin (Dryden, Ont.) returned to lead all scorers in the match.  Jacklin had 13 kills and one ace for a 14-point night.  Christian Zimmer (Ingleside, Ont.) added three kills and two blocks in a losing effort.

Mike Adams led Algonquin with 13 points, while Joshua Harris added 12 and Craig Toonders chipped in 10 for the victors.

Despite the losing record, the Excalibur saw a great deal of growth during the 2011-12 season.  It was the first season for head coach Joshua Neadow, and with one year under his belt, plus a veteran core of returning players, the future is bright in 2012-13 for the Excalibur.
