BELLEVILLE, Ont. - The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team followed in the women's footsteps stealing a road win over the Loyalist Lancers on Saturday afternoon in Belleville by a 3-2 score.
The start didn't look to promising for the Grizzlies as the Lancers were able jump out to an early 1-0 lead with a 25-20 first set win.
Unfazed by the early deficit the Grizzlies responded with a 25-16 second set win to even things up.
In another tight set the Lancers were able to reclaim the lead with a 25-22 win, but yet again the Grizzlies were able to find a way to even things.
The third set with the Grizzlies barely holding onto their lives they were able to come out with a big set win 25-23 to send the match to a fifth and final set.
Georgian was able to pull out a big win in dominant fashion in the fifth and final set with a 15-10 win.
Daren Govan had an impressive night on the court scoring 15 points while Atley Stock had 14 points.
The Grizzlies are now 6-3 on the season and will wrap up their first half schedule on Wednesday when they travel to George Brown to face the Huskies.
