TORONTO - In the first game of the second day at the belairdirect OCAA Women's Basketball Championship, the St. Clair Saints defeated conference rivals Niagara Knights by a score of 77-61.
St. Clair held the lead in all four quarters and finished off the game with a 16-point differential over Niagara.
St. Clair's high scorer was Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont.) who scored 17 points. Player of the game went to Sarah Bondy (Amherstburg, Ont.) scoring 11 points with two rebounds and three assists.
Niagara's high scorer and player of the game went to Courtney McPherson (Welland, Ont.). She dominated the first half of the game by scoring 21 points and finished with a total of 27 points.
Niagara lost the lead early in the first half and were chasing the Saints down 12 points at the half.
The Saints advance to the bronze medal semi-finals.
