MOHAWK 79, CENTENNIAL 56

TORONTO - In the third game of the day the belairdirect OCAA Women's Basketball Championship host Centennial Colts played against the Mohawk Mountaineers.

The Mountaineers grabbed the lead early and kept the lead through the entire game defeating the Colts 79-56. Mohawk's high scorer and player of the game went to Jakayla Douse (Hamilton, Ont.) with 11 points and seven rebounds. Three other Mountaineers contributed 10 points each including Katelyn Arbour (Hamilton, Ont.), Careena Browne (Hamilton, Ont.) and Shanien O'Neill (Dundas, Ont.).

Centennial's high scorer and player of the game went to Gretta Beals (Toronto) who had a game-high 24 points scoring 20 points in the second also with 17 total rebounds.

The Colts fell behind early and were never able to really recover going down 42-17 at the half. It was a good effort from the Colts in the second half scoring more points than the Mountaineers but not enough to come back in this game.
