A double defeat for Mohawk's volleyball teams in London Friday night (Nov. 11).

The Mohawk women bowed 3-1 to the Falcons. The set scores were 25-18, 22-25, 13-25, 15-25.

"Chi Chi Chuks-Mady was on fire in the first two sets, scoring nine kills alone in the first set," said coach Andrew Nicholson. "Julie Gagnon got her first start of the season at setter and ran an almost perfect game plan in both early sets. Unfortunately, the team lost its focus during the fan serving contest between the second and third sets, and we allowed Fanshawe to take momentum away from us. We never got back to our game plan and the scores were indicative of that single factor."

Fanshawe improved to 3-1, while the Mountaineers are still looking for a win after two defeats.

The Mohawk men and women travel to Kitchener Wednesday, November 16, to face the Conestoga Condors.
