Irwin made a fantastic debut in her first-ever OCAA cross country race, the first held in nearly two years on Oct. 2, winning the Fanshawe Invitational in a six kilometre time of 24:15, over one minute better than her closest rival. St. Lawrence has had champion cross country runners in the past and Irwin looks ready to follow in their footsteps. It is a shortened season this year with the final tuneup race before provincials taking place Oct. 16 at the Centennial Invitational. The OCAA Cross Country Championships take place Oct. 30 hosted by Humber.
