Vanderwal had a career weekend for the Mohawk Mountaineers in a three-set sweep of the Borèal Vipères and five-set victory over the Cambrian Golden Shield. The second-year middle blocker had 24 kills and 35 points in the two matches combined. It is the second time this season Vanderwal has accumulated 24 kills in a two-match span. In the match versus the Golden Shield on Jan. 21, Vanderwal tied a career-high 14 kills and four blocks, while setting new career-highs with seven digs and five assists. Vanderwal also added three aces.
