Paterson was named a Championship Second-Team All-Star at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Volleyball National Championship in Victoria, B.C. In three matches the third-year outside hitter averaged 3.21 points and 2.93 kills per set, and was named Player of the Match in the quarter-finals as the Fanshawe Falcons lost in four sets to the Limoilou Titans where Paterson recorded a match-high 14 points and 13 kills. The Falcons were eliminated from medal contention by their nemesis Humber Hawks in the bronze semi-finals.
