Mike Zizek's burst onto the OCAA golf scene in 2004, winning the CCAA individual gold medal by just one stroke while also celebrating a national team championship. He was named Humber male freshman athlete of the year for his efforts.

Mike and his teammates went on to win three more CCAA championships, and finished on the podium a total of six times. Provincially, Mike was also never off the team podium, with two silver medals followed by four consecutive OCAA championships.

He won back-to-back OCAA individual gold medals in 2008 and 2009 to contribute to the team championships. Mike became just the sixth men's golfer to successfully defend his individual gold medal, dating back to 1967.

Mike also represented Canada twice at two FISU world championships.
