FANSHAWE 8, DURHAM 7

LONDON, Ont. – The Durham College men's baseball team were unable to crack the Fanshawe Falcons tonight as the team was edged in both games of their doubleheader in London, Ont.

Alec Brown (Bowmanville, Ont.) took the 8-6 loss in the opening game against the Falcons, going 4 1/3 innings, while allowing seven earned runs on four hits and six walks. Cole Casford (Kingston, Ont.) threw 1 1/3 innings, allowing no runs on two walks, while striking out two.

At the plate Brendon Dadson (Bowmanville, Ont.) had the hot bat for the Lords going 2-for-3 with two hits, two RBIs, a walk and a run scored.

In the 8-7 loss to end the doubleheader, Jordan Edmonds (Horsham, UK) was credited with the loss for Durham. He went 1 1/3 innings with one earned run on five hits and two walks.

Dadson threw 4 2/3 innings in relief, allowing no earned runs on four walks and one hit, while striking out nine.

At the plate the Lords had a great start, scoring five runs in the top of the first, but the Falcons answered with eight runs in the bottom of the second, which was the magic number they needed in the 8-7 victory.

Dadson continued to lead the team at the plate in the second game, picking up three hits in four at bats, with one RBI.

The Lords will now return home to face the Seneca Sting this Friday at Kinsmen Stadium. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 6 p.m.
