FANSHAWE 6, DURHAM 1

OSHAWA, Ont. - Durham College struggled to find any offence over the weekend as the Fanshawe Falcons and St. Clair Saints swept the Lords in OCAA men's baseball action.

Durham pitchers had four solid performances but they went to waste as the offence only generated six runs.

The Lords largest margin of defeat came on Saturday in game two as Fanshawe earned a 6-1 victory. Despite the lopsided scoreline, the game was tight as they entered the seventh inning tied at one run apiece.

The rivalry between Durham and St. Clair is alive and well as the teams have met in the last two OCAA gold medal games. It was on full display on Sunday when Crannel Jerald tried to leap over catcher Jack Lang to score, but the graphic design major managed to tag the outfielder's foot to end the fourth inning.

Trailing 4-2 in the fifth inning, Durham's Jordan Edmonds came up with a two-out single with two runners on base. Jack Lang would come in to score but Dylan Harkness was gunned out at home ending the Lords rally and comeback attempt. The Saints would only allow one more base runner over the next two innings.

The Lords continue to hold the final playoff position in the OCAA with a 5-9 record while St. Clair (12-0) and Fanshawe (7-4) sit one-two in the standings respectively.

Durham will head to Fanshawe on Tuesday for a doubleheader against the Falcons.
